Catherine Manning

Catherine A. Manning Elmira: Age 96, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Catherine was born March 4, 1916, a daughter of Joseph and Anastasia (Hyriak) Yosh. She is predeceased by her husband John T. Manning, son John Timothy Manning, Jr., sisters, Mary Beach, Irene McGann, Margaret Soper and Julia Rosplock, brother Walter Yosh, grandson Michael Patrick Manning, great-granddaughter Sierra McDonald, son-in-law Robert Train. Catherine is survived by her children, with their spouses, Joseph P. and Jacqueline P. Manning, Pine City, Florence M. and Charles Moffe, Elmira, James L. and Carol Manning, Elmira, Kathleen M. Train, Rochester; grandchildren, Mark (Cynthia) Manning, Molly (Michael) Murray, Matthew (Keri Smith) Manning, Anne Marie (Jim Rowell) Coles, Charles (Marie) Moffe, Scott Manning, Lisa (Chad) McDonald, Lizzie (Philip Willsey) Manning, Dr. Meghan (Dr. Erik Olson) Train, Erin (Mauricio Cuellar) Train, Esq.; sister Helen Mansfield, Horseheads; daughter-in-law Jacqueline E. Manning, Horseheads; thirteen great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews… a special thanks to nieces, Johanne Miles and Jean Ann Bradley for all you've done. Catherine was retired from Elmira College with over 20 years of service. Proud of all her family Catherine loved the time she spent with them. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church at 10:00 a.m. Those wishing may remember Catherine with a donation to St. Joseph's Hospital SNF, 555 St. Joseph's Blvd., Elmira NY 14901.
