Carolyn R. Lee

Elmira: Age 81, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021. Carol was born and raised in Elmira a daughter of John C. and Mary (Dempsey) Lee. She is predeceased by her sisters, Barbara Lee and Maryann Wenrick. Carol is survived by niece Stephanie Wenrick of Loveland OH and close friend Mercedes (Chuck) Fruitt of Pine City. Carol attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and was a graduate of Southside High School, Class of 1957. After beginning her career working for the Federal Government, residing in Washington DC, Carol accepted a position with National Semiconductor in 1966, moving to Southern California. In 1982 Carol relocated to Boston MA and in 1995 she returned home to Elmira, working for Anchor Glass, from where she retired. Carol was a volunteer for many years with the Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed her Pepsi’s. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Carol on Friday, July 9, 2021, 12:00 noon, Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 161 High Street, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Carol with a donation to the SPCA, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
