Carole Y. Ellison

Age 75, passed away at home on Saturday, March 25, 2023, after a long illness. Carole was born in Elmira, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Andrews Young. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David L. Ellison; daughter Melissa J. Ellison of Elmira with her children, Hayley Merritt of Sayre PA and Elizabeth (Sam) Pak of Brockport NY; son Cyle D. Ellison with his son Dakota Ellison, both of Elmira; great grandson Rory Pak; sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Wayne Ellison of The Villages FL; brother Michael Young of Elmira; brothers-in-law, Robert Ellison of Cayuta NY and Thomas Ellison of Elmira. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Carole had a varied work history. She was a private dog groomer for many years. She had worked in banking at Marine Midland and Elmira Savings Bank. From there she went on to work for the American Cancer Society and finally working as a bus aide for the Elmira City School District. During all of this time, Carol worked for 50 years with her husband Dave in their business, Dave's TV. Carole had a great love for dogs which led her to having show dogs. Two of those dogs went on to be show champions. She, along with Dave, was a member of the Glen Regional Corvette Club. Carole was a member of numerous needlepoint, quilting and sewing groups, among them are the Piecemakers of Elmira and Undercover Quilters. Carole loved to gamble, which included trips to the Tioga Downs Casino. She also enjoyed having dinner out with friends. Carole's greatest joy was the time she was able to spend with family and friends.

Private family services will be held. Those wishing may remember Carole with a donation to a charity of one's choice.
