Carol J. Watson

Age 67, passed away unexpectedly at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Thursday, July 18, 2024, with her daughters by her side. Carol was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late Leslie and Mary Morich Campbell. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Sharon Presher; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Kathy Campbell. Carol is survived by daughter Faith Watson of Elmira; daughter and son-in-law Cory and Tony Rucker of Sayre PA with their children, Gavin, Mason and Mila Rucker; daughter and son-in-law Corin and Luke Smith of Pine City NY; sister and brother-in-law Susan and David Randall of Watkins Glen; several nieces and nephews.

Carol was a free spirit that lived life to the fullest. She loved to laugh, have fun, and listen to music, especially Janis Joplin. “No one had more fun than we did,” as her friends would say. She adored her children, family, friends, her dogs, the father of her children; Blair Watson, and most of all her grandchildren. Her daughters would like to express gratitude to the ones that supported her in times of need. To her long-lost friends, remember she loved you dearly. "You prayed, He listened, He forgave, and as do we." Carol is finally free from pain and suffering, may her soul rest in peace.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, NY, on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Elmira Heights VFW, 246 Horseheads Blvd, Elmira Heights, NY 14903. Those wishing may remember Carol with a donation to Elmira Animal Shelter, 842 Linden Pl, Elmira, NY 14901.

Whether attending calling hours and/or the Celebration of Life, her daughters recommend (but not require) wearing a tie dye t-shirt, Janis Joplin, peace sign, Harley Davidson, or anything that reminds you of Carol. She would prefer everyone to be comfortable, different, and all about her. Let’s make her smile down from above.
