Carol Keefe

Elmira: Age 61, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Carol was born in Elmira on November 10, 1952 a daughter of James C. Keefe Jr. and the late Mary Marrone Keefe. Carol is also predeceased by infant sisters Joella and Rose Marie Keefe. In addition to her father Carol is survived by her son Marcus J. Keefe of Elmira with his son Anthony; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary G. and Tom Kimble of Elmira, Tina M. and Kevin Garling of Lowman; brothers and sisters-in-law, William J. and Marianne Keefe of Elmira, Joseph M. and Kathleen Keefe of Horseheads; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Carol was very much in touch with her Native American heritage and enjoyed attending the Pow wows held throughout New York State. She was instrumental in opening the Clemens Center Box Office. She had worked in the Elmira College cafeteria for the last three years. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:15 p.m. Donations in Carol's memory may be directed to Care First, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning NY 14830.
