Carlos Adams

Adams, Carlos G. "George" Age 93, passed away on Thursday June 18, 2015 at the Bath VA Medical Center. George was born in Sayre, PA on December 2, 1921 a son of the late Jay and Cecile Willson Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, May Lou (Hoag); children, Jay (Linda) Adams of WV, Brian Adams of Elmira NY, Elizabeth Hotaling of TX, and Todd (Nancy) Adams of State College, PA; sister, Marion Mitchell and brothers Donald and James Adams; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He spent the majority of his life as a carpenter and in the construction industry, where he built and ran Adams Brothers construction and Adams Brothers lumber and hardware before retiring self-employed. He was also an excellent cabinet maker and after retiring built many pieces of fine furniture in his beloved shop at his home in Ulster PA. George was most proud of his service during World War II in the US Coast Guard in the Pacific Theater on the cutter USS Bibb from 1942-1945 as a carpenters mate. He was also past commander of the VFW Post 1536 in Sayre PA. At his request there will be no services. Interment will be held with full military honors in the Bath National Cemetery. There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends at a time and place to be named in the near future. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and pride with the care, treatment, and dignity provided by the staff of the Bath VA Community Living Center #2 for the last 21 months.
