Brian D Young of Elmira, very unexpectedly, left a host of loved ones behind on December 31, 2021. Brian is the son of Kathy (Chris) Erway and the late Larry Young who predeceased Brian on November 23, 2021. Brian was a man of many talents. He was always willing to help anyone who needed something repaired, rebuilt, refinished, renovated, or built from the ground up. He had a thirst for knowledge which he satisfied with several years of college courses in various fields. Brian had a soft spot for people in need. Compassion was always a part of his character. He once gave a single mother all of his furniture because she had none. He had an infectious smile and the kindest eyes. Besides his parents, Brian will be missed by his sisters, Kristy (Kamal) Bradford, Danielle (Nate) Miller and Chloe (Jonathon) O'Hora; and his brothers, Joel (Maryjo) Erway and Jordan (Victoria) Young; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Megan Huddle. In addition to his father, Brian was also predeceased by his maternal grandparents Lewis and Eleanore Kimber and his paternal grandparents Elden and Eleanor Young. A Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Larry Johnson on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church, 150 Victory Highway, Painted Post, NY 14870. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with the Memorial Service to follow. Brian will be laid to rest at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery, in Elmira, at the convenience of the family.
