Brian Kerwan Hope

Age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 12, 2021. Brian was born and raised in Elmira, a son of the late Wayne E. Hope (November 10, 2014) and Claire L. Kerwan (March 27, 2007). Brian is survived by his sister Cara K. Hope of Elmira with her children, Reese and Kiara Fisher, who were the light of Brian's life; aunt and uncle Catherine E. Kerwan of Edgemoor SC with husband Richard Orr; uncle and aunt Thomas and Marcia Hope of Canton OH; cousins, Cathy Cunningham, TJ Hope, Henry Splann, Martin Splann and Carol Brand; family friends, Claire M. Stuart and Carrie Diliberto. Brian was a 2000 graduate of Elmira Free Academy and 2004 graduate of Corning Community College. Brian had a very strong work ethic, working for a variety of companies over the years. Three years ago he started working for Terra Smart, a solar panel installation company, and this job would become his passion. Brian loved the outdoors, camping, waterfalls, and time spent at Keuka Lake. He had an infectious laugh and a gentle, but feisty, personality. Brian had a huge heart and would always put others needs before his own. He was a Cleveland Browns football fan. Thanks to his dad, Brian was also a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers….even though he never saw them play! Even though his job involved a lot of traveling, being the awesome uncle that he was, Brian would always make it to Reese and Kiara's games. Water Street, Elmira, on Wednesday, July 21,2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Brian on Thursday, July 22, 2021, 10:30 a.m., St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira.
