"Egee" Elmira: Age 56, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 after a hard fought battle against ALS. Egee was born in Elmira a son of the late Barbara (Eckert) and Francis J. Griffin. He is also predeceased by his brother, Michael. Egee is survived by his daughters Samantha S. (Tom) Courtney, Moncks Corner SC; Amanda L. (Scott) Christman, Ogdensburg NY; eight grandchildren; siblings, Justin Hunter, Las Vegas NV, Terry (Kathy) Cole, Sacramento CA, Gail Strong, Lakeland FL, Connie Seymour, Elmira Heights, Frances (Ken) Seymour, Horseheads, Patricia (Elmer) Hoose, Big Flats, Denny Griffin (Jen Stickler), Lowman, Barbie Haag, Lakeland FL, Eddie (Kathleen) Griffin, Elmira, Colleen Griffin (fiancé Merle Lewis), Elmira; best friend and former spouse, Nancy Griffin, Elmira; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Egee will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. May Egee never feel pain again.
