Bonnie Jo Burns

Age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Elderwood at Waverly. Bonnie was a daughter of the late Robert R. and Phyllis Edwards Burns. She is also predeceased by her sister Beverly Burns Farr; brother Robert C. Burns; and fiancé Emmitt Clark. Bonnie is survived by her sister Trudy A. Burns; niece Alexandra Farr with her son Karter Bashore; brother-in-law Don Farr, all of Elmira

Bonnie was a 1974 graduate of Elmira Free Academy. She worked at The Donut Shop on College Ave in Elmira for a few years before going to work as a telephone operator with New York Telephone. Bonnie liked to play cards with poker and euchre being her favorite games. She enjoyed water activities and going camping. Bonnie had great memories of good times with her many friends.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will then take place at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
