Bertha Lisi

Bertha R. Lisi Elmira: Age 96, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Bertha was born June 28, 1916, the daughter of Sebastion and Rose (Pasquino) Santoro. She married James A. Lisi on April 24, 1939, he predeceased her on July 25, 1998. Bertha is also predeceased by her brothers, Philip Santora, Thomas Santora, Alfred Santoro, and Benjamin Santora. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Nicholas Longo, Wappinger Falls NY; son and daughter-in-law, James and Sharon Lisi, Newark DE; grandchildren, Nicholas (Kathy) Longo, LeAnne (Doug) Sheldon, James (Robin) Lisi, Kristin (Bryon) Seltzer, Dr. Matthew (Emily) Lisi; eleven great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Bertha worked at Iszards, before going to work for Sears, from where she retired. She was an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles. Bertha was a long time communicant of St. Anthony's/Blessed Sacrament Parish, where she was a member of the Sacred Heart Ladies. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church.
