Barbara Mayer

Age 67, passed away, Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Schuyler Hospital. Barbara was born in Elmira NY on December 27, 1947 a daughter of the late Devilla and Dorothy (Leonard) Crane. She is survived by her son James P. Mayer of Elmira with his sons, Brandon Mayer and Giovanni Liquori; son and daughter-in-law, Sheldon H., Jr. and Anne Mayer of Horseheads with their daughter Emma; son Matthew J. Mayer of Horseheads with his son Noah; great granddaughter Samantha Mayer; brother Lenny Mahood of Elmira; sister Elizabeth Grover of Vero Beach FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins; good friends, Thomas Weidemann of Montour Falls and Sally Connelly of Elmira. Barbara had worked at various positions at Corning Inc. for 30 years. When her sons were young Barbara enjoyed attending their sporting events. She was most happy spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Barbara was a very outgoing person and made friends easily. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:15 p.m.
