Anthony F. Cali

March 28, 1933 — June 27, 2025

Anthony Francis Cali, aged 92, passed away on June 27, 2025, in Ballston Lake, NY. Born on March 28, 1933, Tony was known for his dedication as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His hardworking nature, coupled with a unique sense of humor and a touch of sarcasm, left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Tony proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Military Police (MP) stationed in Alaska. After his honorable discharge, he embarked on a fulfilling career, initially working at Moore Business Forms in Elmira.  Following the closure of Moore's, he joined IBM in Owego, NY, retiring in 1996, the same year he lost his beloved wife, Peggy.  Elmira was where he and Peggy raised their family.

A devout Catholic, Tony was a long-time worshipper at St. Anthony's and St. Charles Catholic Churches in Elmira and St. Patrick's in Owego. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through his personal and professional endeavors.

Tony's hobbies included gardening, playing cards, and visiting casinos, where he enjoyed horse races and blackjack. He cherished family trips back to Dunmore to reunite with his extended family, creating memorable experiences during car rides packed with laughter and joy. His love for family deepened with the arrival of grandchildren, bringing a new kind of happiness into his life.

He is survived by his children, Mary Beth Cali and husband Michael Wood of Candor, NY; James Cali and long-time partner Hazel Boyd of Mount Pleasant, PA; Stephen Cali and wife Kristi of Pembroke, NH; and Michelle Cali Kascenska and husband Jason of Ballston Lake, NY. Tony also leaves behind grandchildren, Lauren, Shane, Michelle, Megan, Samantha, Madison, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kourtney, Carson, Kamryn, and Caiden; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peggy), his parents Salvatore and Angelina (Messina) Cali, and his twelve siblings.
