Anne M. Fitzpatrick

Age 77, passed into eternal life, after a short illness, on April 13, 2023. Anne was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Helen DeLaney Fitzpatrick, many relatives, as well as close friends, Theresa Josbeno and Suzy Butler. She is survived by her relatives in the Nugent, Quillinan, Sommer and Ludu families, along with the Harold and Rosemary DeLaney, Tom and Sally DeLaney, and Kathleen and John Abel families.

Anne attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Notre Dame High School where she graduated in 1963. She received her BA in teaching from Brockport University and her Master’s in Education from Elmira College. Anne taught in the primary grades in the Horseheads School District for many years until her retirement in 2003. She enjoyed teaching and also volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital Gift Shop, the Arctic League, and Office for the Aging.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anne’s faith meant a great deal to her. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. A special thanks from the whole family to Patty Ann and Maureen Quillinan for all their assistance to Anne these past years.
