Alice Boynton

Age 80, of Chemung, passed away at home on July 27, 2017. Alice was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late Leslie J. and Ella May Preston Woodard. She is predeceased by her husband Charles O. Boynton, son Karl O. Boynton, grandson Michael Boynton, siblings Betty Smith, Rose Spencer, Thelma Elston, Pearl Cortright, James Avery and Henry Woodard Sr. Alice is survived by her children and their spouses, Karen Boynton-Talada and Dan Talada of Chemung, NY, Brenda Bowes and Merle Eiffert of Gillett, PA, Vickie and Richard Jackson of Elmira, NY, Aaron and Lisa Boynton of Elmira, NY and Ken and Donna Boynton of Horseheads, NY; sister Ella May; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She worked for the Chemung County Nursing Facility for many years. Alice loved to spoil her grandchildren and do word search puzzles. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice's memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, NY 13790.
