Alfred "Larry" Lawrence Lagonegro, 68, passed away at 5:09 pm Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Lutheran Downtown Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Larry was born in Elmira, NY, the son of Richard Lagonegro and Betty (Cloke) Lagonegro. He graduated from Elmira Free Academy with the Class of 1975 and earned his Associates Degree from Corning Community College. Larry worked as a mechanic. He loved going to the lake, hunting, racing motorcycles with Lou, watching NASCAR and golf. He also enjoyed building muscle car models and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Michelle Lagonegro of Roanoke, IN; son Dylan (Shelbie) Lagonegro of Huntington, IN; two daughters, Lydia (Zachary Simmons) Lagonegro of Ft. Wayne, IN, Casey (Robb) Johnson of Elmira, NY; five grandchildren, Liam and Cali Lagonegro, Makayla, Emma, and Carter Johnson; six sisters, Ginny (Lou) Andrus of Horseheads, NY, Patty Cassada of Odessa, NY, Diane (Mark) Marcus of Littleton, CO, Clare (Doug) Williams of Horseheads, NY, Marilyn (Jim) Ripley of Pine City, NY, Bev (Mike) McDonald of Elmira, NY; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Larry is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Betty Lagonegro, brother Jack Lagonegro, and brother-in-law, Dave Cassada.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W Water Street, Elmira. A prayer service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Deacon Paul Sartori officiating. Interment, with committal prayers, will then take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
