Adam Joseph Cullen, 53, of Elmira, entered into rest on January 31, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 30, 1972 in Elmira, and attended Elmira Public Schools. Adam lived in ARC group homes for 32 years, under the loving care of wonderful staff.

Adam loved wrestling, food (especially sweets), coffee, babies, animals, and his family which included ARC staff. Adam will be remembered as a jokester with a big smile, an amazing memory, and a huge heart.

He is survived by his father, Joseph and step-mother Sherre (Jennings) Cullen of Chicago, IL; mother, Darlene (Emmick) and step-father Jack Placek of Youngstown, NY; grandparents, Walter and Helen Jennings of Largo, FL; three brothers, Brian (Kate) Cullen of Seattle, WA, Ethan Cullen of Milwaukee, WI and Ben (Lauren) Placek of Delmar, NY; a sister, Jessica Placek of Youngstown, NY; five nieces and nephews, Graham Cullen of Seattle, WA, Eleanor and Otto Placek of Delmar, NY and Noah and Kayden Placek of Youngstown, NY and many aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

The family wishes to thank ARC for their excellent care and the friendship extended to Adam.
