Teresa M. Cieri Burin

Horseheads: Teresa passed into her eternal life on Friday, October 29, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Teresa was born on April 23, 1926 to the late Lena (Moss) and Harry Cieri. She was preceded in death by her brother Anthony. On May 14, 1949 Teresa married John J. Burin. After seven years of marriage John preceded her in death on June 28, 1956. Teresa then became both mother and father to her children. She is survived by her loving children, and their spouses: Mary and Donald Crotty of Seminole, FL, Anthony and Rebecca Burin of Odessa, John and Mary Burin of Elmira, Anne and James Longwell of Millport. Teresa was a fun and loving grandmother to: John, Matthew, and Joey Burin, Kristen Najera, Michelle Vorobel, Sarah, Jimmy, and Harry Longwell, and great-grandmother to: Morgan, Marissa, Matthew, Jacob, Emily, and Leo. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bob Niekras of North Carolina; brother James Cieri of McCormick, SC. Teresa was a registered nurse and worked for Dr. Arthur D. Smith for 30 years. She was a long time communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, a member of The Red Hat Society, the “Breakfast Club”, and an Associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph Order. At Teresa’s request there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn National Cemetery.
