“Clokey”
Elmira: Age 65, passed away peacefully at home on
Tuesday, May 3, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Leo J. and
Jennie (Orzechowski) Barry. Sharyn was
also predeceased by her daughter Kristin Cloke Erbach and brother Spencer
Barry. She is survived by her loving
husband of 44 years Edward J. Cloke; children, Amy E. Scaramucci with husband
Jimmy of Littleton MA and their children, Jack and Nina; Matthew E. Cloke of
Boulder CO; Edward L. Cloke of Elmira with his daughters, Gabriella and
Cassandra; Sarah A. Keenan with husband Peter of Dorchester MA who are
expecting their first child within weeks; and Megan K. Cloke of Dorchester MA;
Kristin’s husband Thomas Erbach Jr. of Elmira with their daughter Samantha;
aunt Alice Gazda of Rhode Island; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann
Lepkowski of Horseheads, Marguerite and Kevin McDonough of Endwell NY, Kathleen
Cloke of Elmira, Patricia and Joe Call of Elmira, Joseph and Nancy Cloke of
Elmira; many nieces and nephews. She was
affectionately known as “Clokey” by the numerous children she provided day care
for over a 30 year period. Sharyn was a
long time communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
She was an active member, and former past president, of the Ladies
Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Sharyn was an avid reader. She
enjoyed knitting and looked forward to the meetings with the knitting club on
Wednesday evenings. Sharyn’s greatest
love was for her family and close behind was her passion for the Boston Red
Sox. Those wishing to remember Sharyn may do so with donations to either, Holy Family Catholic Schools,
1012 Davis St., Elmira NY 14901 or Notre Dame High School,
1400 Maple Ave, Elmira NY 14904. There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St.
Mary’s Church, Elmira. The family would like to extend a special
thanks to the Southern Tier Hospice nurses who cared for Sharyn over the last
two weeks and the staff at the Falck
Cancer Center
for their care of Sharyn over the last two years.
The officers and members of
the Ladies Division of the A.O.H. will assemble at St. Mary’s Church on
Saturday, May 7th at 10:45 a.m. in honor of our departed sister,
Sharyn Cloke.
