Ronald A. Mucci

Of Elmira, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010. Ron was born March 11, 1935, the son of the late Peter and Jenny (Cardillo) Mucci. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by sister Josephine, brothers and sister-in-law, Ralph, Marion and Carol; brothers-in-law, Edward Sardisco, and his son Christopher; John Banik; and sister-in-law Margaret Blackwell. Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years Rose Mary (Banik) Mucci; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Daryl Ann Mucci of Long Meadow, MA, Mark and Kirsten Mucci of Horseheads; daughter Debra Ann Wozniak of Elmira, with Glenn Grottenthaler; grandchildren, Rose Lanee, Stephen, Christopher, Nicholas, Joseph and Matthew. Also surviving are sister Patricia Sardisco; brother Larry Mucci; brother-in-law Warren Blackwell; along with several nieces and nephews. Ron served in the U S Air Force during the Korean War. He owned two bar and food restaurants in the area – Rustic Gardens and The Turf Club. He was also manager of Waverly Country Club and in recent years worked for very good friend, Steven Coon, of Coons Sit and Sleep Shop. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. Military Honors will be accorded outside the church at the conclusion of the mass. Flowers are welcome, but donations would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society, 1316 College Avenue, Ste. 2, Elmira, NY 14901-1169, or to a charity of one’s choice.
