Patricia H. O’Dell

Elmira: Age 78, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at Elcor Health Services. Pat was born in Elmira on December 24, 1932 a daughter of the late Leo J. and Beatrice (Shannon) Charron. She is predeceased by her sisters, Mary Charron and Irene Castillo and brother Neil Charron. Pat is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Sherwood E. “Woody” O’Dell, Steven O. and Dena O’Dell; daughter Pamela A. O’Dell, with her friend Ronald Atwood, all of Elmira; grandchildren, Laura, Philip and Christopher O’Dell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Jean Charron of Elmira, Allen and Molly Charron of Syracuse; sisters, Eleanor Snyder of Elmira, Jean Richards of Merced CA, JoAnn Drivers of St. Petersburg FL; sister-in-law, Marlene “Eldora” Charron of Elmira; along with several nieces and nephews. Pat had worked as a certified nurses’ aide at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for 17 years. She was a dedicated employee and looked forward to going to work every day. Pat loved time with her family and took great pride and enjoyment in her home. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:15 p.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations in Pat’s memory may be directed to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Rd., Corning NY 14830. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Pat over the last several months.
