W. Michael Tobash

Elmira: Age 71, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at home. Mike was the only child of the late Walter J. and Caroline J. (Moretti) Tobash. He is survived by his daughter Karen E. Tobash of Elmira; grandchildren Danielle M. Erway and Joel C. Erway both of Rochester; aunt Dorothy Moretti Reese of Elmira; and several cousins. Mike was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Upon discharge from the military Mike went to work for Pepsi Cola (Elmira Bottling Company) and then as a salesman for American LaFrance. He later went to work as a bartender at Moretti’s Restaurant before buying and operating The Elm’s Restaurant in Elmira Heights. Mike loved to fish and in earlier years was an excellent golfer. He loved the time he was able to spend at his place on the west side of Keuka Lake. Family and friends are invited to attend a prayer service to honor Mike’s life at McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
