“Mickey”
Age
59, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Arnot Ogden
Medical Center. Mickey was born August
18, 1951, a son of the late Robert “Buster” and Marian “Mimi” (Howland)
Gordon. In addition to his parents he is
predeceased by his brother, Mark C. Gordon and sister, Carol J. Gilboy. He is survived by former wife Susan Robinson
Gordon of Aston, PA; daughters, Brittany L. (Christopher) Gordon-Hudson of Fort
Stewart, GA; and Megan M. Gordon of Aston, PA; siblings, Sherry (Daniel) Grafius
of Elmira; Janet Fagan of Waldorf, MD; Robert (Rose) Gordon of Elmira; Mary
(Ken) Cushion of Winnsboro, TX; Nancy (Mark) Waggy of Florida; Diane Burchard
of Corning; and Alan Scott Gordon of Elmira.
Also surviving are many loved nieces, nephew, great-nieces,
great-nephews, aunts, cousins, and many friends. Mickey was a U S Marine Corps veteran,
serving in Vietnam
from 1970 – 1971. He worked for Olympic
Tool in Aston, PA
for a number of years, and for the past 11 years was employed by The Boeing Company
in Ridley Park, PA.
Mickey enjoyed sports, especially NASCAR, and his favorite teams were
the Buffalo Bills, and Philadelphia Phillies.
He was a member of American Legion Post #926 in Aston, PA. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home,
corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on
Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, March 24, 2011 there will be one
hour of visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed
by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at New Beginnings
United Methodist
Church, 300 E. Miller Street, Elmira.
Interment with military honors will follow at Bath National
Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Mickey with a
donation to Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 803, 1200 Davis Street, Elmira,
NY 14901.
