Mary Bambury Murray

Elmira: passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at her home after a brief illness. Mary was born June 10, 1913 a daughter of Edward and Mary Bambury. She is predeceased by her husband John B. Murray, and brother, Edward Bambury. Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, J. Tony and Patricia Murray of Elmira; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and John DeLaney of Syracuse; son and daughter-in-law, David and Lois Murray of Horseheads; daughter and son-in-law, M. Virginia “Ginny” and Michael Wolf, with whom she resided. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Matthew, Mary Elizabeth, Michael (Kelley), and Helene (fiancé Josh Colegrove) Wolf; David (Sandra) and Sean (Angela) Murray; Melissa Miller and Jack (Kelly) Murray; Joel (Karin), Justin, Brian (Angelique) and Michael DeLaney; along with several nieces and nephews. Mary was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. A devout Catholic, Mary was a life-long member of St. Patrick’s Church. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Mary’s family would like to send special thanks to Hospice nurse, Kate Hembrooke for the wonderful care she provided to their mother over the last several months.
