Mary Herman

Elmira: Age 77, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, February 10, 2011. Mary was born in New York City on May 4, 1933. She was a daughter of Josephine Herman and the late John Herman. She was predeceased by son Dennis Herman. In addition to her mother Josephine of New York City, Mary is survived by daughter Penny Morales of Pocono Summit PA; son James Herman; brother John Herman of Florida; sister Josephine Herman of New York City; grandchildren Donna Gatteau, Pamela Herman, Brian, Eugene and Tonya Diana, Joseph, J.J. and Jonathan Herman, Jesse Morales; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mary was a kind and gentle person who loved her family. Her gentleness extended to the care she gave to her beloved cats. Mary spent most of her life in New York City before moving to Elmira 12 years ago. She enjoyed volunteering at Elcor Health Services. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Monday, February 14, 2011 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m.
