Marie V. Tangorre

Elmira: Age 89, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Marie was born September 12, 1921, the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Lagonegro. She is predeceased by her husband Vito D. Tangorre and sister Irene Tangorre. Marie is survived by her son Michael J. Tangorre of Spencer NY; daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Bruce Randall of Missoula MT, Marie “Liz” and Gint Dargis of Deer Park IL; grandchildren, Barbara (Dan) Adams, Lori (Shane) Nichols, Amy Tangorre, Michael (Emily) Tangorre, Shannon (Joel) Sylvester, Shawn (Stephanie) Randall, Audra, Alexa, and Andrea Dargis; great-grandchildren, Marissa and Jacob Adams, Vanessa Sylvester, Lila and Molly Tangorre, Joseph and Madeline Nichols. Also surviving are brothers, Richard Lagonegro and Joseph E. Lagonegro, both of Elmira; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary and Eugene Liquori of Elmira, Tony and Angelina Tangorre of Horseheads, Connie and Paul Laprade of Rhode Island and Frank Tangorre of Elmira Heights; along with several nieces and nephews. Marie was a long time communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Marie with a donation to Children’s Miracle Network, 600 Roe Avenue, Elmira, NY 14905. The Tangorre family thanks St. Joseph’s Hospital ICU and 5^th floor Skilled Nursing Unit for the wonderful care given to Marie over the past several weeks.
