Margaret Dombroski Deegan

Horseheads: Age 96, of 1155 Hoffman St., Elmira and Bethany Manor, Horseheads, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Bethany Manor. Margaret was the last surviving of six children born to Theodore and Martha (Guley) Dombroski. She was predeceased by her husband James C. Deegan in 1987; siblings, Helen, Stephen, Joseph, Francis, and Agnes. Margaret was a loving aunt to Joan Scrocarelli with husband Francis, Dorothy Maximiek (deceased) with husband Frank, Paul Cadek with wife Francine, Phyllis Dombroski with partner Janet, Mary Adkisson with husband George, Ann Shuman with husband Jerry, Jean Dombroski with partner Gillian, and Beth Ragsdale with husband Tim; special cousins, Sally, Pat and Bobby of Binghamton NY; also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Margaret was retired from Remington Rand. She was an avid reader and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Margaret was a devout Catholic. She had been a longtime communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and upon the church’s closing had attended Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Committal prayers and burial will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
