Madeline C. Kelly

Elmira: Age 93, of Horseheads, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010 at St. Joseph’s
Hospital. Madeline was born on August
23, 1917, in Elmira,
the daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Mathew) Fahs. She was also predeceased by her first
husband, Arthur D. Field, Jr., who was killed in action in WWII, second
husband, Charles M. Kelly, daughter Mary Beth Kelly Jelliff,
and brothers, Charles E. Fahs and Joseph
H. Fahs.
A loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and
aunt, Madeline is survived by daughter Katherine (Gordon) Mosher of Horseheads, son Arthur D. (Anne) Field, III of Horseheads, daughters
Amy Kelly Goodrich (with Marty Mumford) of Big
Flats, Maureen Wagner of Cheektowaga, NY, Joanne (Bob) Woods of Elmira; sister
Mary (Vern) Morgan of Big Flats; grandchildren, Amy (Frank) Cicora,
with their children, Chelsea, Mollie, Carrie and Colby; Heather (Bryan)
Holliday, Kathanne (Ethan) Cunningham, with their
daughter Cosette; Kayla and Kyle Goodrich, Steven
(Rebecca) George, with their children, Ethan, Samantha, and Evelyn; Zachary
George, Lori Fincik, Jennifer Fincik,
with her daughter Taylor; Kelly (Patrick) Mulvehill, with
their children, Jack and Gavin; Katelin and Justin
Woods, and Brandon Jelliff; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Fahs, Marie Fahs, Eva Pickett,
and Fran Field; brother-in-law Allen Lampman; along
with numerous nieces and nephews.
Madeline was a long time communicant of the now closed St.
John the Baptist Church in Elmira. Family
and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut
Sts., on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 5:00
p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Our Mother Church,
Horseheads with Fr. Christopher Linsler
as the celebrant. Committal prayers and
interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Madeline with
a memorial to the St. Joseph’s Hospital –
Skilled Nursing Unit, 555 St. Joseph’s Blvd., Elmira NY 14901. Madeline’s family would like to extend a
special thank you to the 5th floor skilled nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for
the loving and compassionate care she received.
