Janet A. Savino

Age 74, of Elmira, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at home. Janet was born in Blossburg PA, a daughter of the late Wilbert J. and Virginia (Brunner) Knight. She was predeceased by sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Thomas Schmidt; sisters-in-law, Mary Agan and Elizabeth Savino. Janet is survived by her husband of 55 years, Francis V. Savino; son and daughter-in-law, Rocco F. and Cheryl Savino of Elmira with their children, Francis and Rebecca; daughter Jennifer L. Savino of Elmira; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine M. and John Rogers of Webster NY with their children, Emma and Jack; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James Agan, Joseph Savino, Roy and Susan Savino all of Elmira, Blanche and James Pirozzolo of Horseheads, Theresa and William Gamer of Rochester, Linda and James Collins of Elmira, Dennis and Diane Savino of Florida; also surviving are many nieces nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at McInerny Funeral Home, with Father Richard Farrell officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be directed to Blessed Sacrament Parish, 604 Park Place, Elmira NY 14901 or a charity of one’s choice.
