Donald J. Kienzle

Elmira: Age 94, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Don was born January 8, 1917, in Morristown, NJ, son of Joseph F. and Ethel (Jewell) Kienzle. He is predeceased by his wife Kathryn Murphy Kienzle, infant son, Richard D., three-year old son Lawrence D. Kienzle, and great-granddaughter Elexus Sincock. Don is survived by his children, Mary M. “Peggy” Sincock of Las Pinas City, Philippines, Thomas J. Kienzle of Millport, Patricia K. Leonberger, with husband Richard, of Hammondsport, and Paula A Lawrence, with husband Brad, of Rockville, MD. Also surviving Don are 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Don was a graduate of Elmira Business Institute. He retired as Secretary/Treasurer with Linn S. Chapel Co., where he had over 45 years of service. Don enjoyed flying, was an instrument rated private pilot, and an active member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was an accomplished builder. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Walnut and W. Water Sts., on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment will take place on Friday, at 12:00 noon at Woodlawn Cemetery.
