formerly of Elmira, died Friday, August 20, 2010
at Lakeside Memorial
Hospital, Brockport, NY. Billy was born August 22, 1946, a son of
Theresa (Forrest) Nickens of Elmira and the late Clinton W. Nickens, Sr. He is also predeceased by his sister Joyce
Hall. Billy is survived by his mother;
wife Gloria Nickens of Leroy, NY; son Clinton W. “Little Billy” Nickens, III of
Leroy; daughter Heather Nickens of Friendship, NY; siblings, all of Elmira,
Carol Ann Gilmore, Jacqueline Cartwright, Brenda Freeman, Patricia Ann Freeman,
Pauline Hurst, with husband James, James Mosley, James Nickens, George Nickens,
with wife Millie, David Nickens, Timothy Nickens, and Otis Maxwell. He is also survived by special aunt and
uncle, Ruthe and Dr. Sibert Douglas of Rochester
along with other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Billy graduated from EFA in 1964. He then entered the military, serving his
country in the U S Army. Upon his
discharge from the Army, Billy moved to Leroy, where for 31 years he worked for
Leroy Industries. The company was
purchased by Automotive Corporation, Inc. and Billy has worked there for the
past 10 years. He was an avid car
enthusiast and world wide traveler. Family and friends are invited to McInerny
Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts.,
on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Billy’s life
will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at New Jerusalem
Church. Interment will take place at Mt. Morris
Cemetery.
