Caroline Hilliker

Elmira: Age 96, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Elcor Health Services. Caroline was born in Silver Creek, NY on July 31, 1914 the daughter of Martin and Emma (Schmidt) Ebling. She was the youngest, and last surviving, of 11 children. Caroline was predeceased by her husband Norman L. Hilliker on March 17, 2001. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Eugene and Rose Marie Hilliker of Dunkirk, NY; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Robert Hovis of Elmira; granddaughters, Janet Hilliker and Brenda Thursam; along with several nieces and nephews. Caroline spent most of her life living in the Silver Creek area. For nearly 30 years she and Norman operated a vineyard on their property in Silver Creek. Not only was Norman her husband, but he was her best friend, never being apart from each other, until his passing in 2001. Caroline moved to Elmira in 2006 to be with Patricia and Bob. She enjoyed great health all of her life until the past month. Private services will be held in Silver Creek at a later date.
