Elmira: Age 85, died Friday, October 1, 2010 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Bertha was born July 15, 1925 a daughter of
Joseph and Mary (Blanchette) Lemay. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Andre P. DuPont; much loved
daughters, with their families, Nicole D. and Kirk Sanders of Lake St. Louis,
MO, with daughter Julie, Lisa D. and Charles Gilbert of Collierville, TN, with
sons, Christopher, Brian and Mark; sisters, all of Quebec, Canada, Fernande
Lemay, Madeleine Bertrand and Rolande Lemay; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Jean Guy and Pierrette DuPont, Claude DuPont, Jeanne d’arc
Fetterly, all of Quebec, Bill DuPont of Arizona, Jacques and Anita DuPont,
Emilien DuPont, and Maggie Pepin, all of Elmira; nieces, Diane (Bruce) Elston,
Joanne (David) Ulmer, Kathleen (Tom) Frost; along with several other nieces and
nephews. Bertha was born in Quebec, Canada. She married Andre in 1949 and they moved to Elmira in 1956. Bertha and Andre enjoyed dancing and for many
years belonged to the Polka Association in Elmira.
A warm and loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Bertha loved the time
she spent with her family. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home,
corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Monday,
October 4, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at
11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church.
