Barbara Jean Sparling

Pine City: Age 47, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Barb was born September 12, 1963 in Hornell, NY, the daughter of Norma (Dye) Conz of Elmira and Richard H. Conz of Elmira Heights. She is predeceased by her brother Robert H. Conz and sister Edith A. McDonald. In addition to her parents Barb is survived by her husband of 10 years Robert W. Sparling, Jr.; sons, James A. Bryant of Elmira and William J. Sparling of Pine City; siblings, William J. Conz, with wife Bobbie, of Horseheads, Maria Bennett of Elmira, Joseph M. Conz of Palm Springs, CA; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and good friends. Barb was a 1981 graduate of Southside High School. She was employed for the last 8 years by the Elmira City School District where she worked in the cafeteria at various schools. Barb loved to camp and was a member of the “Paradise Hogs”, a campground located in Reading Center. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery on Friday, December 17, 2010.
